Bowled over by Flight Safe

Mira had a long-standing relationship with a group of hotels, but it wasn’t until a chance conversation with a Mira Sales Manager at a cricket match that the customer heard about the great benefits of Flight Safe. Keen to explore how an anti-slip tray could fit into his hotels – he set a date to visit the Mira manufacturing plant at Hull.

The innovative design, semi-automated production processes and rigorous testing labs were enough to impress. The group placed an order for six trays to trial at one of their hotels in Leeds, Garforth. On the day of delivery, Mark Baker – Senior Key Account Manager – was on-site to oversee delivery and ensure a smooth installation.

The Garforth hotel typically sees a high volume of business clientele come through its doors. So it was important for the hotel to offer their guests quick turnaround showers while always safeguarding against slips. Flight Safe was the perfect answer, helping them to really look after guests in the bathroom. But it brought other benefits, too.

A typical bath takes, on average, 153 litres to fill. Whereas most showers use about eight litres per minute. Replacing baths with shower enclosures helped the hotels keep water bills down and improve their eco-friendliness.

“Flight Safe has been the perfect solution for our newly refurbished hotels. The trays provide a longterm clean & safe environment – boosting guest satisfaction and are easy to install.”

And thanks to the BioCote® technology, the Housekeeping team found the Flight Safe tray easy to clean – crucial when you’ve got 144 rooms to take care of. This mould-resistant coating means the shower stays looking fresher for longer – even in the busiest of environments.

As a result of the trial, the group is now installing 2,500 trays in their sites over the next three years. So Flight Safe is quickly becoming the shower tray of choice for some of Britain’s best-known brands.

The group currently operate over 50 business and leisure hotels across the UK under five major brands including: Holiday Inn, Holiday Inn Express, Crowne Plaza, Marriott and Ramada.
