At The York Pavilion Hotel, we have always upheld the highest standards of hygiene and cleanliness, with our large housekeeping team being trained to consistently deliver a five-star service.
We ask that you do not travel if you have any of the symptoms associated with Covid-19, or have been in contact with anyone who displays symptoms.
Tuesday 1st September 2020 saw our doors proudly re-open since prior to lockdown. The health and safety of our guests and staff is of paramount importance and we have implemented measures across The York Pavilion Hotel and its facilities to support the rigorous cleaning procedure which is already in place.
Our hotel was originally a 17th century farmhouse and altered extensively in 1785 to become and elegant Georgian home, before becoming a hotel 1988. Some areas of the hotel are therefor not built for strict social distancing and so your patience is kindly received.
Upon entering the hotel, you will immediately notice that hand sanitiser stations are dotted around the public areas and their use is encouraged.
The situation relating to COVID-19 will of course change on a regular basis, and we will continue to adapt our procedures as necessary to ensure the health and safety of our guests and our staff, following advice from the UK Government, World Health Organisation and key tourism bodies and specialists.
Cleaning procedures
• The team have been provided with PPE and additional masks, gloves, and aprons to ensure that they can carry out their roles safely and effectively, whilst maintaining the highest possible standards of cleanliness for our guests.
• To minimise touch points for guests and staff, all non-essential items across the apartments, hotel and facilities have been removed, including magazines, leaflets, and in-room guides. The latter will be available to download in pdf format before and during your stay. This can be obtained from an email that you will be sent automatically after check-in.
• We request where possible for all payments to be made via credit or debit card during your stay and our card machine will be sanitised between each use.
Supporting social distancing
We will be encouraging social distancing measures of staff and guests throughout the hotel. There will be increased signage as well as a one-way system in place for entering and exiting the hotel during your stay. Our reception desk does have screens in place also for safety. You may also be asked to advise of an arrival time so we can better manage queues at the reception desk.
Prior to arrival you will receive your registration card to complete and return. Your credit or debit card may also be pre-authorised on the morning of your arrival. Both of these actions will help to contribute towards a contactless check in for you at the hotel.
Public spaces in the hotel
Our beautiful gardens are now open, and tables and parasols are awaiting you. Our team will be on hand to take your order and serve you directly.
Food and drink
We are pleased to confirm that our restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner and we kindly ask that if you plan on joining us – a table reservation is made either by calling our reception team on 01904 622099 or speaking with them on arrival. By keeping to a timed reservation, this will allow us to manage the restaurant to the best of our ability whilst adding in the extra cleaning procedures to keep everyone safe.
We thank you in advance for your patience and co-operation and hope to welcome you soon.
